The Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) works with the people of Hawai‘i to manage, conserve, and restore the state’s unique aquatic resources and ecosystems for present and future generations.

Ecosystem Management
Ecosystem management planning, environmental review and permitting, protected species
Fisheries Management
Promoting sustainable resource use, ensuring long-term viability of Hawai‘i’s fisheries, and research
Resiliency and Restoration
Prevention, response, and mitigation of ecological threats, coral nursery, and aquaculture
Outreach and Collaboration
Engaging communities, providing education, and developing partnerships to support co-management and research
