Kona Crab and Lobster Closed Season Sales License

Requirement

  • Any dealer or restaurant to sell or serve during the closed season any Kona crab or lobster lawfully caught during the open season.
  • Lobster season runs Sept. 1st to April 30th.
  • Kona Crab season runs Oct. 1st to April 30th and is monitored by an Annual Catch Limit.
  • Includes reporting requirements.

Fee

$100 annual

Other Commercial Fishers Licenses

Allows businesses to buy, sell, or trade marine life from licensed fishers.

Registers dealers who purchase or sell kala (unicornfish) from licensed fishers.

Required for dealers involved in buying or selling uhu (parrotfish) commercially.

Authorizes possession of imported species that are restricted in Hawaiʻi.

Required to buy and sell farm-raised aquatic animals or products in Hawaiʻi.

Authorizes operating a facility that breeds or raises aquatic species for aquaculture.

Allows activities within Molokini Shoal Marine Life Conservation District.
