Requirement

  • Any fish pond owner or operator to take regulated marine life, including young mullet, from the ocean, or to acquire regulated marine life from non-ocean sources, to stock their pond or facility with the intention of raising the marine life for commercial purposes.
  • Includes a reporting requirement.

  • Must complete initial site inspection and a letter of authorization before submitting a new application.

Other Commercial Fishers Licenses

Allows businesses to buy, sell, or trade marine life from licensed fishers.

Registers dealers who purchase or sell kala (unicornfish) from licensed fishers.

Required for dealers involved in buying or selling uhu (parrotfish) commercially.

Allows the possession of Kona crab or lobster during the closed season.

Authorizes possession of imported species that are restricted in Hawaiʻi.

Authorizes operating a facility that breeds or raises aquatic species for aquaculture.

Allows activities within Molokini Shoal Marine Life Conservation District.
